Re: E-M:/ Public comments on the proposed Consent Order withDow

Enviro-Mich message from "Erik Janus" <Janus@nwf.org>

I don't remember what is online and what isn't, but yes, there
are supporting documents. There is a probabilistic risk assessment
done by Exponent, an oral bioavailability study also done by Exponent,
comments on the PRA from an expert at Parametrix, and 2 public health
studies from ATSDR (Midland and Tittabawassee River).

I would also encourage anyone providing technical comments
to review:

"The Benefits of probabilistic exposure assessment: 3 case studies
involving contaminated air, water, and soil"
Finley and Paustenbach
Risk Analysis 14(1): 53 - 73, 1994.

Paustenbach is a recognized expert in both exposure assessment and
PRA. In this paper, he goes through the process of setting action
in soil for dioxin using a probabilistic approach.

Are any of the supporting documents for the consent order, particularly
human health risk assessment, available on line?
