In an age where the global economy is dominated by powerful
multinational corporations there is an increasing need to hold
corporations accountable for their impact on our lives.
Michigan-based Dow Chemical is the largest chemical company in the
world. Dow has earned this distinction by manufacturing some
notoriously toxic chemicals like mustard gas, Agent Orange, Napalm,
pesticides like 2,4,5-trichlorophenol, 2,4-D, Dursban, vinyl chloride
and ethylene dichloride. In addition to this, Dow has outstanding
responsibility to clean up a number of contaminated areas around the
world.

Conference Co-Sponsors
Association for India's Development, Environmental Action,
Environmental Issues Commission, Environmental Justice, Justice for
Bhopal, Ecology Center, Environmental Health Watch, Greenpeace, Lone
Tree Council.
