The East Michigan Chapter - A&WMA is a co-sponsor with LocalMotion and
ACCESS in the following presentation. Dr. Devra Davis, an international
expert on the epidemiology of health effects of urban air pollution,
will address the linkage between emissions, air quality and health.
Environmental professionals necessarily focus on controlling pollution
while the medical community concentrates on illnesses. Neither
profession often has an opportunity to consider the larger significance
of the roles they play in dealing with challenges posed by air pollution
in our modern industrial societies. Dr. Davis is a dynamic speaker who
has had the opportunity to address both sides-as a speaker at AWMA
national meetings and as a regular participant at Grand Rounds in
hospitals throughout the country. She tells an informative story of how
both professions make a real difference and will provide an informed
prediction of where the challenges and achievements in improved air
quality will be in the future. More information about this presentation
may be accessed through the East Michigan Chapter's Web Site at
