E-M:/ More info on the Woodland Meadows Landfill wetlands expansion

Enviro-Mich message from Jeff Surfus <jeffsurfus@comcast.net>

This link includes the public notice and application information for the
Woodland Meadows landfill expansion which will eliminate 30 acres of
wetlands to accomodate Canadian trash:

Note that this expansion will eat up 0.06 acres of emergent and
scrub/shrub, 6.61 acres of emergent, 3.33 acres of scrub/shrub, and 20.65
acres of forested wetlands!

Given that the Onyx Arbor Hills landfill in neighboring Washtenaw County
is hurting for business and has plenty of available capacity and the
remaining capacity of Carleton Farms and other local landfills, there is
no way that this landfill needs to be expanded.
