According to the US Census Bureau, the US population on April 1, 2000 was
281,421,906.

According the Discover article below, they could turn 600,000,000 tons of
turkey guts into 4 billion barrels of oil per year.

That's 2 tons of turkey guts per person per year.

I like turkey, but not that much.

Also, 2000 pounds of guts makes over 2000 pounds of oil?  Pretty good
conversion factors.
