Program Manager

Position Description


The Michigan League of Conservation Voters and the Michigan LCV Education Fund seeks a full-time Program Manager to manage our diverse and exciting programs. 


The Michigan LCV is a 501 ( c ) 4 organization that seeks to make environmental protection and conservation a top priority with Michigan's elected officials, political candidates and voters by mobilizing citizens as a political force for the environment.


The Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund is a 501 ( c ) (3) research and educational organization dedicated to build the grassroots power of the environmental movement and to involve citizens in policy decisions at all levels of American governance.  We develop innovative campaigns and communication technologies, build pro-conservation coalitions, and train environmental leaders on how to be strategic and successful participants in the democratic process.


About the Program Manager Position:

The Program Manager works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director and coordinates the majority of ongoing projects for the Michigan LCV / LCV Education Fund. The Program Manager is responsible for refining and implementing  Michigan LCV / LCV Education Fundís strategic plans and working with state/local organizations throughout Michigan.  The Program Manager is ideally based in the Ann Arbor/Southeast Michigan area and should be prepared to travel throughout the state on a periodic basis.  The Program Manager is responsible for the following program work in the state:

®       Analyzing legislative action and electoral details;

®       Organizing media events and GreenChats through Michigan;

®       Coordinating polling, message and media work;

®       Updating and maintaining state activist and media lists


Experience and Qualifications:

Michigan LCV / LCV Education Fund is seeking an individual with a strong personal commitment to the environment; experience working on political and/or issue campaigns; a positive attitude toward working with others and learning; experience working with committees, volunteers and coalitions; the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds; strong oral and written communication skills; and strong computer and analytical skills.  A BA in a related field is preferable.


Salary and Benefits:

Negotiable depending on experience.
