There's still time to sign up for the 11th National Nonpoint Source Monitoring Workshop to be held September 7 through the 11th in Dearborn, Michigan. This year’s workshop will focus on the effectiveness of urban controls and low impact development techniques. In addition to numerous papers on urban stream restoration, monitoring of BMPs and evaluation of Information/Education programs there are ˝ day workshops on Better Site Design and Strategies for Performing Watershed Assessments in Urban Environments. Tours are scheduled of Ford Motor Company's environmental sustainability project at it's Rouge Manufacturing facility including a green roof on a major industrial plant. Tours of river and lake restoration on the Rouge River and urban BMPs in the Rouge Basin are also scheduled.
