E-M:/ Designing Sites for Water Quality Seminar

Enviro-Mich message from fred cowles <fecowles@yahoo.com>

The Michigan Water Environment Association’s Watershed
Management Committee is sponsoring a two-day seminar
“Designing Sites for Water Quality: Active
Construction and Post-Construction BMPs”. It will be
held on December 2 & 3, 2003 in Battle Creek, Michigan
at the McCamly Plaza Hotel. The first day will be
devoted to storm water best management practices
during active construction and the second day will
deal with post-construction storm water management.
You may register for either day, but there is a
significant cost-savings for full registration.

This seminar will be of great value to those involved
in the EPA Phase 2 Storm Water Program because Best
Management Practices (BMPs) for these two “Minimum
Measures” have the greatest direct impact on water
quality. Speakers are selected from among the
country’s foremost experts in storm water management
including Professor Robert Pitt from the University of
Alabama, Dr. Jerald Fifield from HydroDynamics in
Colorado, and Marc Theisen from Erosion Control
Alliance in Tennessee. Representative Chris Kolb will
keynote the seminar with comments on his participation
on the Michigan Land Use Leadership Council.

The seminar is designed to be an enlightening two
days, with exhibits by suppliers of equipment and
services related to storm water, watershed management,
and development. A complementary networking reception
following the first day presentations is included.
Lunch and handout materials are also included with the
