E-M:/ Plywood/particle board, waferboard plants

Enviro-Mich message from "Alex J. Sagady & Associates" <ajs@sagady.com>

BNA is reporting that EPA is going to include a
"risk-based" exemption for plywood, particle board
wafer board plants from new standards to control
hazardous air pollutants emitted by these plant,
notably formaldehyde.

This could have a big impact in Michigan since these
plants are located in Grayling, Gaylord, Newberry, Sagola
(Dickinson county)....perhaps other locations I'm unaware of.

With a risk-based exemption, a plant with a tall stack that can
show that hazardous air pollutants are sufficiently diluted can
get away without installing Maximum Achievable Control Technology.

Many of these plants in Michigan have been the source of strong
odors of formaldehyde, wood-based volatiles and other volatile organic

This is thus yet more undermining of the Clean Air Act by
Generalissimo Bush and his cronies.
