Ann Arbor, MI – League of Conservation Voters President Deb Callahan will join Rep. John D. Dingell (MI-15) --the senior Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee-- and DEQ Director Steve Chester to outline the dangers to Michiganders posed by the Bush-Cheney Energy Bill which Republican leaders have indicated is a top priority for them when Congress returns at the end of January.

Dingell, who worked with LCV in Washington to oppose the bill, will specifically highlight its assault on Michigan’s water resources. >From his investigation of the Cheney Energy Task Force through the recent battle against the legislation on the House Floor, Dingell has led House opposition to the proposal, a centerpiece of the Bush-Cheney legislative and campaign agenda.
