Job Title:  Resource Analyst E
	   Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Fisheries Division
                   Habitat Management Unit
                   Natural Rivers Program, Gaylord, Michigan

Responsibilities:  Responsible to assist in the administration and
implementation of the Natural Rivers program in Northern Lower Michigan.
 Review the application of statutes that impact designated Natural
Rivers through other state statutes and local zoning ordinances.  Work
cooperatively with local boards and units of government. Provide
technical assistance to local units of government, property owners, and
interested individuals. Conduct informational and educational outreach
activities related to the Natural Rivers program, rivers, and natural

Qualifications: Possession of a bachelor's degree in a physical or
biological science, resource management, resource planning, land use
zoning, or a related field.  Additional course work or training in
planning and zoning, natural resource law, or the management and
protection of riparian areas or river systems is desirable.  No specific
experience is required.  However, experience in the protection,
management, or maintenance of land and water resources is preferred. 
Additional experience in zoning administration, natural resource law and
policy development, land use planning, or administration of regulatory
statutes is desired.  Knowledge and understanding of natural resource
management and riverine systems is necessary for this position.  The
candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of riparian principles
and practices, biological systems and process, planning and zoning,
administrative rules, and land use controls.  Good communication and
human relation skills are necessary in this position.  A review of the
resume, transcripts, the interview process, and references will be used
to evaluate any experience.

Salary:  $32,136 - $52,500 depending on experience.  Excellent
