*CFRD is a community organization working cooperatively to improve the economic climate and the land, air, and water quality of Manistee and the surrounding area. Our primary objective is to create a healthy and viable future, based on a sustainable relationship with our natural environment.

CFRD is committed to Manistee and the surrounding area through responsible development and to promoting a greater awareness of the dependent relationship that exists between us and our natural environment.

We will build partnerships with other individuals, groups, agencies, and organizations in developing and implementing cooperative solutions to present and future economic challenges and concerns while being ever mindful of the environmental impact these changes may present.

To achieve these ends, we will nurture and promote the intellectual idealism of individuals and to channel that into a group opportunity for its transformation into direct local action and impact. It is our belief, that as a collective and diverse group, we have more power to enact and effect change, than on an individual basis.

Let this mission statement serve as the foundation upon which we build our future. Through this organization we will create a set of goals and ideals for the common vision we hold.
