A workshop for landowners and other interested folks on the Washtenaw County
Natural Area Preservation Program (NAPP) will be held at the Superior Township
Hall on Wednesday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m.

NAPP-which was funded by county voters in 2000-is operated by the county
Parks and Recreation Department. The program seeks to purchase and protect high
quality natural areas across the county. To date nearly 500 acres of land has
been protected, including a property in Superior Township.

The workshop-which is sponsored by the Ecology Center and the Southeast
Michigan Land Conservancy-seeks to inform landowners and public officials of the
county program and to encourage their application. Program director and county
parks superintendent Tom Freeman will provide a slide presentation and answer
questions. Representatives of SMLC will also be on hand.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Superior Township Hall is
located at 3040 N. Prospect Rd. at the northeast corner of Cherry Hill Rd. For
more information, contact Barry Lonik of the Ecology Center, (734) 426-7089 or
