The Ludington Daily News is posting the following poll question:
"It appears Manistee will be rejecting a proposal for a coal-fired power plant that could provide over 50 jobs and add millions to the local economy. Environmental concerns and increased pressure on local infrastructure were cited as main reasons. If Tondu were to apply to locate in Mason County - perhaps the Harbison-Walker site - would you be in favor?"
So far the results are a sad and frightening testimony to the education of the general public regarding the issue of coal-fired power plants. To vote, or view ongoing results of the poll, go to:
