LocalMotion, a non-profit organization, seeks a Director to lead the organization in its mission of raising public awareness of the links between the environment and health. Founded in 1999, LocalMotion is based in, and serves, the Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods communities. Our successful programs include Safe Schools, Safe Parks, and an annual lecture series.
The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing campaigns with the Board of Directors. The Director will take a lead role in public informational and educational community presentations and will serve as the organizationís primary public representative and spokesperson. Reporting to the Board of Directors and regular and frequent interaction with the Board Chairperson would be expected. The director will be supported by an active Board.
Candidate should have 2-3 years experience in one or more of the following areas:
Community education and outreach
Public or environmental health related field
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, passionate about environmental health, active in the community, able to interact well with people, and possess strong communication and organization skills.
Hours, Compensation and Application Process
This position offers a part time (20-25hrs/wk), flexible schedule. Salary is commensurate with experience.
