The Grand Valley Metropolitan Council is inviting all who are interested to a workshop to learn more about the Lower Grand River Watershed Management Plan and the interactive tools that will help local government, concerned citizens, educators, and environmental organizations understand and manage our incredible resource, the Grand River.
This workshop will:
• Assist in writing resource-related grant applications
• Help meet new NPDES Phase II requirements
• Provide tools to identify most effective and efficient water quality control strategies
The Lower Grand River Watershed Project started in July 2002. The result of this two-year project is a watershed management plan for the Lower Grand River. A watershed management plan is an action-oriented strategy for local governments, concerned citizens, and conservation organizations to use to improve water resources in our communities. The Lower Grand River Watershed Management Plan will provide direction to local leaders by helping them understand the watershed’s best resources and what areas need the most help. This workshop is being offered to all interested in learning more about the Lower Grand River Watershed project and how to use this plan in your community to improve water quality.
This workshop is free and open to everyone. Refreshments will be provided. If you would like to register for this workshop, or would like more information, please contact Ms. Laurie Beth Nederveld at the Grand Valley State University, Annis Water Resources Institute, phone number: (616) 331-3979, e-mail: email@example.com.
