The Michigan Environmental Council, a nonprofit, 24-year-old environmental
organization with 67 member groups, is seeking to employ an Energy Program

Founded in 1980, the Michigan Environmental Council provides a collective

with our member groups and their collective membership of approximately
250,000 citizens, the council is fighting to promote cleaner energy for a
stronger economy, protect our land resources from sprawl, guard our water,
defend children’s health from pollution, and open up the environmental
decision-making processes of government, among other efforts. With 12
full-time professional staff, a number of part-time employees, student
assistants and an active board of directors, the council is poised to build
on our successes in working for public and environmental health within
Michigan and throughout the Great Lakes basin. (Visit www.mecprotects.org
for more information.)

This is a full-time position throughout the summer; beginning in September,
the position will require between 10 and 12 hours per week.

calls.
§	Represent Michigan Environmental Council at select meetings and events.
§	Communicate with legislators’ offices, program partners, state officials
and other audiences.
§	Perform other tasks as assigned by the Energy Policy Specialist.

Qualifications
