Lee Kitson Homes and Rain Gardens of West Michigan (West Michigan 
Environmental Action Council) are excited to feature three rain gardens as 
part of a Green Built home. The home can be seen during the Parade of Homes 
in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which starts today. The last day for the Parade 
of Homes is June 12.

The beautiful home, at 4465 Burton Forest Ct,  Kentwood, is environmentally 
innovative with recycled plastic bottle carpeting, on-demand hot water 
heaters, energy star appliances, cork floors, and other sustainable 
features. The lot has preserved much of the native vegetation plus has 
formal native landscaping in addition to the rain gardens. The formal 
landscaping was designed and created by Knapp Valley Landscaping and 
RiverMaid Desgin. WMEAC volunteers and staff planted the rain gardens.
