Announcing 2 Kalamazoo River Events in JUNE
7pm Tuesday June 8: KALAMAZOO RIVER CITIZEN RALLY
Kalamazoo Charter Township Office, 1720 Riverview Drive, Kalamazoo, MI
Hosted by the Sierra Club, the Kalamazoo River Protection Association, and the Kalamazoo River Watershed Council
Come be part of this public participation forum – this event is not so much about the Kalamazoo River contamination, but is about public participation in the Superfund remediation process for the Kalamazoo River, and to set the stage for future community involvement and communication. Special guests include members of the Pine River Superfund Citizens Task Force who will share their experience and insight on the public participation process with the Pine River and the Velsicol Chemical Superfund Site in Gratiot County. (Please see http://pineriver.alma.edu for more information about the PRSCTF.)
6-8pm Tuesday June 29: USEPA PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING
Plainwell High School, 600 School Drive, Plainwell, MI
This information meeting presented by USEPA will present the current status of the Kalamazoo River Superfund Site.
