E-M:/ Rain Garden Video wins award

West Michigan Environmental Action Council's new Rain Garden video has won 
two awards at the 2004 Festival ( http://www.festivalofthearts.org/ ) in 
Grand Rapids. The five minute educational video was created for WMEAC's Rain 
Gardens of West Michigan progam by Grand Valley State University's College 
of Communications class led by Deanna Morse.

The awards won are "Best in Show for student documentary" and "First Place, 
Student Division."

The student videographers are: Dale S. Greve, Greg Bosse, Mark Hensley, 
Justin Marquardt, and Josh Messinger.

The video educates on watersheds, stormwater issues, and introduces the use 
of rain gardens to help solve stormwater problems.

Rain Gardens of West Michigan is funded by Steelcase Foundation, Frey 
Foundation, the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, and the City of Grand 
Rapids. The video production was funded in part by the Dorothy A. Johnson 
Center for Philanthropy.

The winning video will be shown at Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain St, 
Grand Rapids during the festival weekend, Friday from 5-7 and Saturday from 
2-6. The video is also playing at the Lee Kitson Green-Built home at 4455 
Burton Forest Ct., Kentwood, during the  Parade of Homes. The Parade of 
Homes runs through June 12.

WMEAC congratulates these very talented students on being celebrated for 
their excellent work.
