U.S. EPA is today proposing that most of SE Michigan
be considered as nonattainment (not meeting air quality
standards) for fine particulate matter known as PM 2.5.

Michigan had proposed only Wayne and Monroe county
for nonattainment, but EPA proposes adding St. Clair, Macomb,
Oakland, Washtenaw and Livingston counties.....which would
be considered as having sources contributing to PM 2.5   .....many
of these locations also show air pollution monitoring for PM 2.5
just marginally below the annual standard.
