E-M:/ Beach walking case

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enviro-Mich message from "Keith Schneider" <keith@mlui.org>
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear friends,
The Michigan Land Use Institute just posted an article describing the ramifications of the Appellate Court ruling in May on the authority of shoreline property owners to bar beach walkers. If the ruling stands, we report, it could result in the end of a centuries old past time in Michigan. The ruling also could produce a proliferation of unsightly barriers on Great Lakes beaches, including Keep Out signs and fences.

See our piece here: http://www.mlui.org/landwater/fullarticle.asp?fileid=16718

The Institute is now organizing to push back and those of you interested in helping can contact me at keith@mlui.org. Best, Keith Schneider, deputy director, Michigan Land Use Institute.
