Here are a few:

Jackson County Resource Recovery Facility - Solid Waste Incinerator has operated  since around 1987.

Kent County also operates a solid waste incinerator.

Up to a few years ago many hospital also operated medical waste incinerators.

Dow Chemical is funding a  dioxin exposure investigation conducted by the Univeristy of Michigan. The study also will include 175 residents in Jackson and Calhoun counties in southern Michigan. Those communities have similar demographics but no known source of dioxin according to the researchers.  Would be interested in hearing from enviro-mich subscribers about dioxin sources in these counties.
