The Washtenaw County Solid Waste Program is looking to fill two open internships. The internship can be part-time or full-time; undergraduate and graduate students preferred. Interns work on a variety of projects relating to waste reduction, reuse and recycling. Listed below are some existing programs that may be assigned. In addition, there are many opportunities for more self-directed research projects according to individual interest. Programs:
Requirements: · Knowledge of solid waste/recycling practices and issues · Strong writing, communication, and organization skills · Strong organizational and Research skills · Ability to work well independently and in a team environment · Good sense of humor and a drive for success a plus · Computer literacy, experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) Adobe Acrobat, and PageMaker · Must have transportation to 705 N Zeeb Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Obtained from Internship:
Hours: · Negotiable; 15-37.5 hours per week
Pay: · $9.00 to $12.00/hour, Depending on Experience
