Attend free workshops on protecting the waters of the Great Lakes!

The protection of the Great Lakes ecosystems and water supplies is a
critical issue in the Great Lakes Basin.  Preventing harmful exports and
diversions of water may be the most important issue facing the Great
Lakes.  Without our precious water, the residents of Michigan and the
entire Great Lakes Basin lose not only our identity, but also our

The threat of harmful exports and diversions paired with careless water
management has prompted the creation of a draft agreement, based on the
principles laid out in the Great Lakes Charter Annex 2001, that could
protect the lakes, but is it strong enough?

That is for you, the concerned citizens and leaders of Michigan and the
Great Lakes Basin, to decide.  The purpose of these training meeting is
to provide you with background information on the issue and process and
to help you understand the provisions of the draft compact so you can
participate in the public comment period and make your voice heard on
the protection of the Great Lakes waters!
