Voices for Earth Justice, an interfaith environmental network, has organized an educational and enjoyable seminar, WOMEN IN PRAISE - WATER FOR LIFE. This unique event, with contributions of materials from State agencies, religious organizations, watershed coalitions, conservations groups and others, will be held Saturday, October 2, 2004 from 9am to 4pm at the beautiful campus of Madonna University, Schoolcraft at Levan, in Livonia, Michigan.

"Water: Sacred and Symbolic" (Rev. Judith Vasile, Church of Christ)
"Transforming Lives in Haiti through the Miracle of Water" Ms. Rachael Mills, Director of International Child Care
"Rain Gardens in our Neighborhoods" (Ms. Lillian Dean, Healthy Lawns and Gardens SOCWA)
"What to Know about Rivers, Streams and Waterways" (Dr. Thomas Wilch, Associate Professor, Albion College)
"Living with Water: Healthy Watersheds" (Ms. Laura Rubin, Executive Director, Huron River Watershed Council)
 
Participants will dine overlooking a pond on the campus of Madonna University, serenaded with music (Music by James).
 
Throughout the day there will be dance, music and panoramic displays (and gifts and prizes):
The Praise Dancers of Detroit, the Elm Dance by Ms. Sue Schreiber, and the Mercyaires, performance group from Mercy High School.
 
For early arrivals, Voices for Earth Justice, will be hosting a reception from 7 to 9pm on Friday evening, October 1, 2004. A block of rooms at a special rate has been made available at the Courtyard by Marriott - Detroit Livonia.
