Contemplation of a draft is certainly not a hoax.  It would be foolish of 
them not to consider one.  Whether it would be reinstated is another matter.

We already have a de facto draft imposed on U.S. Military personnel and 
National Guardsmen, prohibiting them from ending their service per their enlistment 
agreements.  There may actually be benefits to a more open draft.  As it is 
now, too few young people are concerned about the political situation in this 
country.  This would surely wake them up.
