Preservationists unlikely to get all land they want in Saugatuck
Owners must decide what they will do

Preservationists say they no longer expect to acquire the entire 413 acres of Lake Michigan shoreline and nearby dune land as part of an effort to curb development along the Lake Michigan banks of Saugatuck.

The land, which has been valued at $30.7 million and is divided by the Kalamazoo River, is owned by the Gertrude Denison Trust and the estate of Frank Denison, a Saugatuck yacht builder who died in 2000.
