Whatever happened to and who owns the lands at the very tip of the Keeweenau
to the northeast and east of Bete Grise Bay?.....the lands that used to be
owned by Universal Oil Products?

Friends,
That is wonderful news! Until you've visited the Keweenaw you just cannot
understand the unique beauty of the region. The Nature Conservancy has
done so much to preserve the Keweenaw (more than 11,000 acres) including
the icing on the cake, Bete Grise (Locally pronounced Bay 'da Gree). I
know of so many people that have worked to preserve these lands, each and
every last one of them has my sincerest thanks. I'd like to single-out one
of the pit-bulls for a big tip of my hat, Gary Kohs. Again, thank you all.
