EPA Issues Revised Draft of Contaminated Sediment Remediation Guidance for Hazardous Waste Sites for Peer Review

During the month of February 2005, EPA’s Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation will be conducting an external peer review of its Draft Contaminated Sediment Remediation Guidance for Hazardous Waste Sites. This guidance document has been revised in response to comments received during the public comment period on the previously released draft (November 2002) and additional Agency review. EPA received comments from almost 50 parties during the public comment period, including industry, States, other Federal agencies, environmental groups, and the public. All comments were considered when developing the recommendations in this draft of the guidance. Additional public comments are NOT being solicited on the peer review draft.

The Peer Review Panel was selected by an independent contractor based on the reviewer's expertise in addressing the questions presented in the charge document, conflict of interest disclosure, and EPA’s Peer Review Policy Handbook (EPA-100-B-00-001, December 2000).
