E-M:/ Halliburton's water diversion scheme stopped

Enviro-Mich message from Frank Ambrose <snakeman1549@yahoo.com>

Halliburton's plan to bottle Great Lakes water for the
US's war for oil in the Middle East have been stopped,
for now. Apparently, their funding fell through.
Sweetwater had just begun the campaign and was gearing
up for a fight. Maybe that caused the already shaky
proposal to look out-of-reach for the venture
capitalists who would've provided the money.

Here is a link to two articles from the Bay City Times
about the bottling scheme. They were posted to the
Michigan IMC because the BC Times pulls their articles
from the internet after 2 weeks, and Alex asks us not
to post articles.

The first is a little older and does a decent job of
speaking to the issue. The second is just a snip
showing that the bottling plant site has been
abandoned in favor of a gear making plant.

Allegedly, they are looking for a new site though.
Nothing has materialized that we know of yet. If
anyone hears anything, let us know.
