Michigan's 300-plus shooting ranges are encouraged to participate in a
new Shooting Range Environmental Stewardship Program (SRESP). The free
program is being funded in part by a Clean Michigan Initiative grant
from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. Under the
program, operators of Michigan shooting ranges will have the opportunity
to enroll in the SRESP and receive guidance and assistance from MUCC in
managing their ranges to minimize potential adverse environmental
impacts from lead. The National Shooting Sports Foundation and
Environmental Protection Agency are assisting MUCC in implementing the
program. MUCC has represented the views of millions of conservationists
since 1937, with over 500 affiliated clubs whose mission is uniting
citizens to conserve Michigan's natural resources and protect our
outdoor heritage. For more information on MUCC, visit www.mucc.org.

Note: B-roll of shooting range activities will be
available at the press conference.
