E-M:/ Deal is reached over Detroit River pollution

Agreement still awaits judge's approval
After 11 years, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Wayne County and 13 metro Detroit communities have settled a consent decree to stop the pollution of the Detroit River.

The EPA filed the lawsuit against the county and the communities in March 1987; the sides reached a consent agreement in 1994.
