One point that's not included in the article but
probably helped the millage campaign is that the City
of Ann Arbor has been aggressively pursuing PDR on
farmland in Webster, even though the Township had not
yet passed the PDR millage. This is being accomplished
through funding from Federal and State PDR programs.
Normally, the City prefers to fund purchases where the
Township shares in the funding of the purchase of
development rights. Now that Webster has a PDR millage
in place, they'll be able to be a more active partner
with the City, allowing the City's dollars to go
