Subject: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Scheduled

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day set for October 15

The Household Hazardous Waste Consortium encourages you and your neighbors
to participate in Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. It will take
place on Saturday, October 15. (Genesee County holds this event twice a
year -- once in the Spring and once in the Fall.)

Genesee County residents can take household items that should never be
tossed out with the regular trash -- items such as pesticides, solvents,
oil-based paints, motor oil, mercury, batteries, acids, old prescription
drugs and other hazardous chemicals -- to one of three locations where they
will be collected for recycling or safe disposal. There is no charge to
participate.

There will be three locations available for drop off of hazardous materials
open from 10am until 2pm.

-- The Water Service Center at 3310 E. Court St. in Flint
-- Davison School at 1250 North Oak Road in Davison
-- GM Flint Metal Fab Facility at G-2238 West Bristol Rd

If you have any questions, contact our Natural Resources Agent Darren

and direct traffic. If you are willing to volunteer, please contact Darren
Bagley at bagleyda@msu.edu or (810) 244-8524. First come, first choice of
sites.

Other partners in the Consortium include the Genesee County Health
Department, Genesee County Recycling Coalition, General Motors
Environmental Staff in Flint, Delphi Staff in Flint, UAW Local 599.

Please copy and post the flyer (available at
