Add this article to our Michigan 'trash' file for reference data.  It is interesting how much MI and WI have in common.
Out-of-state garbage in Wisconsin landfills jumps 46%
But, according to new Department of Natural Resources figures, the total amount of garbage from Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota dumped in Wisconsin landfills in 2004 rose to nearly 2.2 million tons, a 46% increase over 2003.
The amount of waste from Michigan that came to Wisconsin decreased last year to 9,081 tons, from 16,427 tons in 2003.
