Hear the Wisdom. See the Results. Heal our Communities.
The conference will include informative talks, performances and
incredible locally-grown food. Friday night will feature internationally
renowned Hunter Lovins, author of Natural Capital, in conversation with
local sustainability advocate Jim Embry. This special event is included
in the conference registration and is open to the general public. We are
asking for a freewill offering at the door from those not registered.
Local workshops include topics such as urban gardening, protecting kids
from lead poisoning, reducing violence through community building, Tai
Chi, using plants to clean polluted soil, and much, much more.
International experts will be beamed in by satellite, including Omar
Freilla on greening the inner city, David Orr on Ecological Design, and

Detroit and the surrounding region need solutions for the challenges
that face us. The Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit conference will
provide a robust look at the practical and visionary solutions for
our communities.
Past participants in other Bioneers conferences have described the
experience as "revved up", "inspiring", "motivating", "brilliant" and
"fascinating".
Bioneers comprise a network of visionary innovators working
to build a sustainable, positive and creative future for the web of
life. This is our first annual Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit
Conference. It combines local sessions, solutions and events with
international innovations, beamed in by satellite from the
International Bioneers Conference in San Rafael, CA.
Bioneers is a nonprofit organization that promotes practical
environmental solutions and innovative social strategies for
restoring the Earth and communities. For information on the this year's
International Bioneers Conference, visit: www.bioneers.org
The Great Lakes Bioneers conference is happening in two locations
this year: in Traverse City (for the fourth year) and Detroit (for
the first annual).
