E-M:/ November energy education

Friends,
With the nation's ever-increasing energy needs, renewable energy is on a lot of people's minds these days.  If it's been on your mind too, the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association (GLREA) invites you to explore the topic and increase your knowledge with two informative seminars in November:

November 5th
Intermediate Photovoltaics
Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the components that make up a photovoltaic (PV) system and and how PV works.  Participants will learn how to define a load analysis, site selection, energy efficiency measures, system sizing and installation techniques.  Some knowledge of photovoltaics is preferred.
Cost:  $55 Non-Members, $40 Members

November 19th
Intermediate Wind
This course will focus on small business and residential sized turbines.  It will begin with the basics covered in our introductory wind energy seminar.  An overview of the basics of wind energy, types of systems, and turbine siting concerns will be presented.  In the remainder of the class turbine technology will be looked at more closely, and some sample systems will be reviewed.  The economics of wind systems will also be discussed.
Cost:  $55 Non-Members, $40 Members

Both seminars will be held at the GLREA Energy Center in Dimondale.  The seminars will break for a one hour lunch.  Students are responsible for their own lunches.
To register or for more information, visit www.glrea.org., or call GLREA at 1-800-434-9788.

GLREA is a non-profit organization with a 14 year history of providing education and demonstrations on renewable energy technology for the public.  GLREA?s primary focus is to promote solar, wind, hydro, biomass and other clean energy technologies, to raise the public awareness of alternative fueled vehicles, to promote passive solar building design, and to encourage the use of energy efficient materials and practices.
