At morning coffee today the White Lake Republican politicians (the old
Engler Ellenwood Marina network) were still bragging they're going
to get their 121-slip private marina at the tannery site (thus destroying
the last fish nursery refuge in the area).
Genesco Inc. has withdrawn its application to the state to fill portions of
wetland at its former tannery site, recreate the wetland elsewhere, and move a
portion of Bush Creek to the north.
But that doesn't mean a developer's plan to turn the White Lake waterfront tannery site into a condominium and business community is defunct. |
