Enviro-Mich message from "Rita Jack" <rita.jack@sierraclub.org>

Click on the Jack Lessenberry Show link on the right side of the screen, and
scroll down for the November 15 (Opening Day) show. You can listen to the
program that aired yesterday -- with very informative discussion about
Michigan's deer management program, effects of Michigan's forest management
on the deer herd population, and other Michigan wildlife issues.

Here's the blurb from the website http://jackshow.blogs.com/jack/

"Are Deer Good for Michigan? - The deer population in Michigan has exploded
- even in areas where lots of people live.  Many roads are littered with
dead deer carcasses and some say they are harming our state's forests.  As
firearm deer hunting seasons opens we consider how well the state is
managing the population?
Jack talks with Detroit Free Press Outdoors Reporter Eric Sharp; Marvin
Roberson who is the Forest Policy Specialist for the Michigan Sierra Club;
and Dick McElroy who is the Executive Director of the Alpena Chamber
