Winter Fishing Day for Youth
Planned for Saturday at Wolf Lake Hatchery

The Department of Natural Resources' Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery in Mattawan will hold a winter fishing day for youth Saturday morning, Feb. 25, at the show pond at the facility. Programs will be offered at 10 and 11 a.m., and the hatchery's visitor center will be open from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery is located at 34270 County Road 652 in Mattawan. Saturday's programs are free and open to the public. Equipment and bait will be provided, but participants will not be ice fishing.

The program is geared toward children between the ages of 5 and 16. Parents should dress children appropriately for outdoor fishing.

Pre-registration is required and can be done by calling the hatchery at 269-668-2876.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources for current and future generations.
