Job Description

The Department of Geography at Michigan State University announces a research associate position, focused on grant-writing, in the geospatial technology field. The position will be housed in the Remote Sensing and GIS Research and Outreach (RS&GIS) program within the Geography Department (http://www.rsgis.msu.edu). Appointment will be on an annual basis for one year with opportunity for multi-year extensions.

We seek applicants with experience in grant writing and an understanding of competitive grant funding programs at the national level. A background in remote sensing, GIS, GPS, statistics, or other spatial technologies is desired. Applicant must be willing and able to interact with faculty, staff, and students in Geography and related departments to develop interdisciplinary research proposals. This position provides opportunity for creative thinking and engagement with active researchers from across campus.

A completed PhD in Geography or a closely related discipline is required. Salary is competitive.
