About the


The Clinton River Watershed Council provides a forum for individuals, businesses, local governments, and other organizations to protect, enhance, and celebrate the Clinton River, its watershed, and Lake St. Clair. Established in 1972 as a council of local governments, the Clinton River Watershed Council reorganized in 1994 as an IRS 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Key programs include watershed management, education, and stewardship.


Reporting Relationship

The Office Manager reports to the Executive Director and coordinates work with other professional staff. It is a part-time (appx. 25 hr/week) non-exempt position.



Support CRWC’s mission through sound coordination of the organization’s internal operations and courteous, service-oriented behavior towards colleagues, other agencies, organizations and individuals. The Office Manager will:


·         Design/distribution of quarterly newsletter, event invitations and holiday cards

·         Co-coordinate annual meeting and fundraiser and support other events

·         Database management (design, entry, upkeep)

·         Maintain current membership/constituent records in organizational database

·         Co-manage CRWC listserv (update participants, post messages)

·         Log accounts receivable

·         Technical/supervisory support for bulk mailings (mail merge, labels, distribution)

·         Coordination of office-based volunteer support (mailings, membership thank you letters, news clippings, stocking of resource materials)

·         Coordinate work with landlord, utilities, and service providers

·         Maintain contact@crwc.org email account

·         Assist with preparation of board meeting packets

·         Track receipt of permits received by CRWC and distribute/file as needed

·         Maintain office supplies and equipment; manage office recycling

·         Handle daily mail distribution

·         Answer and effectively respond to incoming calls; assist visitors

·         Perform other duties as assigned



Two-three years administrative experience preferred.  Proficient at Microsoft Office programs, including advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Publisher and Access. Event planning experience ideal. Strong organizational skills and strong relationship skills, including tact, sense of humor, assertiveness.  Demonstrated ability to track and manage multiple tasks accurately and in a timely fashion. 



$12-14/hour commensurate with experience.
