E-M:/ Humbug Marsh-some good news!

Enviro-Mich message from Smileysmlc@aol.com

I am pleased to report that John Hartig, Refuge Manager for the Detroit River
International Wildlife Refuge (which features Humbug Marsh), has announced
that the proposed bike path will be constructed OUTSIDE of the fence along
Jefferson Avenue, and not inside the woods at Humbug Marsh. John Hartig should
really be commended for guiding the bike path to a location that best protects
the relatively small habitat found at Humbug. For those of you who have spoken
up about the need to protect Humbug Marsh from overdevelopment and habitat
fragmentation, you should pat yourself on the back, too.

This is definitely good news for the Humbug Marsh complex.
