Progress Report on North America’s Only
Greenhouse Reduction and Trading Program
Michael Walsh
Vice President
Chicago Climate Exchange
2:00-3:15 PM
Kellogg Center Auditorium
April 28, 2006
Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) is the world's first and North America's only
legally binding multi-sectoral, rule-based and integrated greenhouse gas
emission registry, reduction and trading system.
Dr. Walsh, who earned his PhD in Economics at MSU in 1987, will talk about:
* Maximizing the benefits of emissions trading, as proven in the SO2
program, and allowing carbon pricing and trading to stimulate financing of
capital improvements, maximizing entrepreneurial response and rewarding
environmental innovation.
* CCX as the only available mechanism through which US based entities may
engage in the integrated carbon market with a linked reduction and trading
system and as a vital tool for understanding the price of carbon in today's
carbon constrained-world.
