E-M:/ Ann Arbor Forum on "Cars & the Environment"

What's the new frontier in the energy efficiency of cars?  Hear the latest from the experts.

Ann Arbor's Women Progressive Activists (WPA) proudly present Cars and the Environment at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10. This event is free and open to the public.

Charles Griffith and Marc Ross will speak about Cars and the Environment. Charles Griffith, Ecology Center Auto Project Director, is an advocate of fuel efficient vehicles that are union-made in the United States; and Marc Ross is a Professor Emeritus in Physics at the University of Michigan, who researches the efficiency with which society uses energy, and the associated emissions and costs. He uses simulations of engines, vehicles and driving to explore the potential for fuel economy improvement and reduced pollution through new technology.

They will discuss Senator Barak Obama's (D-IL) proposed legislation to help the auto companies transition into new fuel-efficient technologies by offering auto companies a manufacturer tax credit and legacy health care cost relief. They will also discuss consumer and government fleet purchasing incentives.  A question and answer session will follow.

Please join us at 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 10 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2145 Independence Ave in Ann Arbor. Independence is off of Packard near the Georgetown Krogers. 2145 is at the intersection of Powell and Independence.
