We are just receiving this today, even though the Plan was signed on March
20th. If anyone is considering an appeal, note that it must be filed
within
90 days after the decision date, not the date of this announcement, and
that
the Plan is already being implemented.

Subject: Huron-Manistee National Forests Release Revised Forest Plan
We are pleased to announce the release of the 2006 Land and Resource
Management Plan (2006 Forest Plan) and Final Environmental Impact
Statement
(FEIS) for the Huron-Manistee National Forests. The Record of Decision,
signed by the Regional Forester on March 20, 2006, documents the formal
decision and rationale in the selection of the management plan for the
Huron-Manistee National Forests over the next 10-15 years.
These planning documents may be viewed and downloaded from our website (
www.fs.fed.us/r9/hmnf/pages/planning ). If you would like to receive
these
documents in print or on CD, please contact our Forest Plan Revision Team
at 231-775-2421 or via email at: r9_huronmanistee_revision@fs.fed.us .
Implementation of the 2006 Forest Plan will begin 30 days after
publication
of the FEIS Notice of Availability in the Federal Register. This decision
is subject to appeal, pursuant to the provisions of 36 CFR 217.3. A
written notice of appeal must be filed with the Chief of the Forest
Service
within 90 days of publication of the legal notice of the decision in the
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Appeals must be sent to one of the following

appeal must be fully consistent with 36 CFR 217.9.
