Clean Water
Action Endorses Mary
Lindemann
In Hotly Contested State House
District 69 Democratic Primary Election
EAST LANSING, MI—Clean Water Action,
Michigan's largest grassroots environmental organization, announced
today its endorsement of Mary
Lindemann in the hotly contested state House District 69 Democratic
primary
election on August 8. The district
includes East Lansing and Meridian
Township.
“The Great Lakes
make Michigan
great," said David Holtz, Michigan Director of Clean Water Action. "They are too important to leave
in the hands of politicians who may not have the same understanding as
Mary
Lindemann that they are ours to enjoy and protect. Mary
is
clearly the candidate who is most concerned with the Great
Lakes
and protecting Michigan’s
waters. She has dedicated her life to
protecting our
environment. As a governmental
relations consultant, she fought at our side in the fight to keep Great
Lakes waters in Michigan
and against diversions. There is no question that Mary is the best
choice for
those that are concerned about Michigan's lakes, rivers, streams and
drinking water.”
Mary Lindemann is a long-time East
Lansing resident. She has worked as a teacher,
social
worker, legislative aide and government relations officer.
Clean Water Action is a national
citizens' organization
working for clean, safe and affordable water, prevention of
health-threatening
pollution, creation of environmentally-safe jobs and businesses and
empowerment
of people to make democracy work. Clean
Water Action, with 177,000 Michigan members, has offices in East
Lansing,
Ann Arbor, Grand
Rapids and Macomb
County.
More
than 5,000 Clean Water Action members reside in state House District
69.
