1. WTC wins major victory to protect endangered species from pesticides
On August 24, a federal judge announced a ruling that was a major victory for WTC and a coalition of organizations working to protect endangered species from the impacts of pesticides. The judge overturned new Bush administration rules that made it easier for pesticide makers to ignore the effects of their products on endangered plants and animals. The victory received widespread media coverage, including stories in The Los Angeles Times, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and KUOW and KIRO radio.
