William McDonough to Speak at Ecology Center Fundraising Dinner
William McDonough, the world-renowned architect and designer, will keynote the Ecology Center’s Fall Fundraiser on Thursday November 2, 2006 at Weber's Inn in Ann Arbor.
Mr. McDonough’s work on innovative projects such as the Ford Rouge Plant and its “living” roof have made him a leader in sustainable design and development. He has been honored with the Presidential Award of Sustainable Development, the National Design Award, the Green Chemistry Challenge Award, and recognition as a Time magazine “Hero for the Planet.” He will be speaking on his “Cradle to Cradle” vision of an environmentally and economically intelligent future.
The Fall Fundraiser will also include a presentation of the Ecology Center’s Herbert L. Munzel Award for Environmental Activism to pediatrician William B. Weil, Jr. for his work to protect children from the harmful effects of pollution.
This annual fundraiser raises money for the Ecology Center’s work for a safe and healthy environment where people live, work, and play. Tickets must be pre-purchased. For more information, contact Stephanie Feldstein at (734) 761-3186 ext. 110 or stephanie@ecocenter.org
